BOLTON 2-2 LIVERPOOL...!!!
All square again. It was a touch of deja vu. U cant help but feel that it was Liverpool V Everton all over again.
After last nite'z game, Liverpool is now 6th in the ELP standing. This cannot be good if they want Champions League football next season. Newcastle have now overtook Charton and Liverpool to the 4th spot. With Charlton to play tonite, the gap seems to be widening (minding u that we are talkin bout the 4th spot).
Apart from these, Fulham is breathin down our LFC'z neck too and with Birmingham having two games in hand, we might just end up in 8th spot at the end of the season. Yeah...itz a pretty scary scenario.
Okie, back to the game, again they started off with Owen and Tallec in front with Kewell, Gerrard, Hamann and Cheyrou in support from the mid-field. At the back there'z Carragher, Hyypia, Henchoz and Finnan. Last but not least, Dudek in goal.
Liverpool came from behind twice before sharing the points for the nite. The game was excitin enuff but, still no win. It'z now 4 games without a win for the lads in Red. U can see the determination and hard work but the overall controll of the game was not there. At times they dominate but the assurance of puttin the ball in the net or winnin the match was not quite there. Again, a whole lot of missed chances.
The match ended with Cheyrou and Tallec replaced with Pongolle and later Murphy. It was after the introduction of Pongolle that the Reds found some effective attacking play. However, there just issint enuff room for all the talents in the the Red'z 1st team squad.
U cant fault the lad for tryin but my personnal opinion, the game play, the tactics or wut ever one would call it, is not eminent. Rather than tryin to out wit, out play or out class their opponents (hmm...maybe should send them for the Survivor Challenge), the lads were just goin head on tryin very very hard to 'barge' their way through. Arrggghhhh...it was soo sad to see Liverpool play like dat.
Where's the good old times...??? The Pass and Move...and then tear the opponent's defence apart before exquisitely placing (and i stress PLACING) the ball into the net which is the epitome of the all conquering Mighty Reds of the 80s...!!! Oh how we miss those silky and stylish attacking play.
Although the result was not encouraging, however the lads look to be in the right attitude and maybe, just maybe, they will find their peak for the final stretch to claim the last spot for the champions league. Along the way, a UEFA Cup and a FA Cup would be most welcome... ;-)
Till here for now, have a great week ahead, enjoy yer work...!!!
U'll Never Walk Alone...!!!
